Nail Fungus Removal

Until now, treating nail fungus has been frustrating, time-consuming, and has offered less than satisfactory results. But now, there is good news.

Nail Fungus is Curable!

Claregalway Foot Therapy Clinic is delighted to introduce PACT (Photodynamic Antimicrobial Therapy) to Ireland, and Galway in particular. PACT is a revolutionary process, developed in Germany, that kills bacteria, viruses and fungi on skin surfaces, including toenails and fingernails.

When you come to our clinic for your initial consultation, we will first determine whether or not you have toenail fungus, and you will receive a general foot health treatment. If fungus is detected, your PACT treatment will begin with application of Urea Ointment, a softener that dissolves the intercellular matrix, to the affected nail(s).

Once this step is complete, a Toluidine blue dye gel (photosensitizer) is applied to the nail, followed by the special light from the PACT Med device. The gel renders the microorganisms sensitive to light and the wavelength given off by the light treatment, performed for a specific amount of time, causes the microorganisms to die.

The PACT treatment may need to be repeated on subsequent visits. Ultimately, it will take approximately three months for a new, healthy nail to grow out.

Prices for the PACT Nail Fungus Removal Treatment start with an initial preparatory consultation and treatment for €50. The PACT light treatments follow at €115 per treatment. Depending on severity, it may require several sets of multiple treatments to eradicate the nail fungus.
